Plant Terpenes, CBD, And Natural Wellness

Terpenes are chemicals that give plants their scent and flavor. They also may have medicinal properties, acting as both anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving agents. Terpenes can be found in many plants like mint, hops, lavender, thyme, and CBD (hemp), to name a few. This blog post will explore the basics of terpenes in CBD and beyond, so you know what they are and how each terpene is different. In addition, it will discuss how terpenes affect natural wellness by altering your cannabidiol experience.

What Are Terpenes in CBD?

Terpenes are what give individual hemp plants their unique taste and smell. A terpene is a hydrocarbon molecule found in the essential oils of many types of plants, and they have been used for hundreds of years as a remedy for all sorts of ailments. Today terpenes are being researched for their potential to be therapeutic on human beings. This is thanks to the discovery that our bodies produce endocannabinoids that act upon the same receptors that CBD and their attached hemp terpenes do. Let’s look at a few of the common terpenes found and CBD and how each one may affect our bodies.
